Gujarat: Two Daman Men Cheat Visa Agent Of Rs 13.5 Lakh

| Updated: January 13, 2023 17:15

A visa agent from the Ahmedabad, Memnagar area filed a complaint with Satellite police on Thursday, alleging that two men from Daman defrauded him of Rs 13.50 lakh by promising him six visas to Bulgaria and one to the United Kingdom.

Jaydeep Nakrani, 36, a resident of Sahajanand residency flats near Helmet Cross Roads, stated in his FIR that he runs a visa consultancy agency in Navrangpura.

Nakrani’s friend introduced him to the accused, Dushyant Rana and Paras Rana, who also run a visa consultancy firm, in August 2021, and they met at a commercial complex in Satellite.

During the meeting, Dushyant and Paras informed Nakrani that they had sent many people to the UK and other countries and had been in the immigration consultancy business for a long time. The pair informed Nakrani that he would charge Rs 4 lakh for a Bulgarian visa and Rs 18 lakh for a UK visa. Nakhrani paid RS 13.50 lakh for the visas as the initial payment after becoming convinced. Nakhari stated that he had submitted passports to the relevant embassies in Delhi on the instructions of Paras and Dushyant.

In April 2022, Nakhrani learned that all the visa files were rejected. When he spoke to Dushyant and Paras about this, they told him they would return his money. Nakrani said the duo did not return any money and in May 2022 went incommunicado. Nakrani approached Satellite police and filed a complaint of breach of trust, cheating and abetment against Dushyant and Paras.
