Gujarat University has signed an MOU with the Indian Army under which the university had prepared a habitat for army personnel last year. It was endorsed by the College of Military and Engineering and today, after a year, the final habitat with required modifications is displayed at the university.
It took 10 months of consistent hard work for the university to completely develop the habitat and took about six months for approval.
Along with basic amenities like heating, water proofing, solar energy and communication, the tent will also provide protection from snow to up to six feet. Moreover, there is oxygen supply provision for cases when the personnel faces difficulty in breathing.
Himanshu Pandya, the Chancellor of Gujarat University, giving credit to the students and professors of the university stated that the project was successful only because of the hard work by them.
He further added that the university is to take up several such projects.
