Union Minister and BJP leader Smriti Irani on Friday attacked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party for insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 100-year-old mother. Irani said that the Gujarat unit of the Aam Aadmi Party insulted the 100-year-old mother of the Prime Minister just for cheap politics ahead of the assembly elections in Gujarat.
She alleged that the Gujarat AAP leaders were brazenly using foul language against PM Modi’s old mother at the behest of Arvind Kejriwal. “AAP leaders have hurt the sentiments of Gujarat and the people there for cheap politics. They insulted Hirabaa and her only crime is that she gave birth to PM Narendra Modi. Your leaders and workers seek to punish and abuse her. Gujaratis will teach them a lesson in the elections. Gujarat will not forgive you.”
Gopal Italia was released three hours after he was arrested by Delhi Police in connection with a video where he used abusive terms for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His arrest triggered a row between the BJP and AAP.
Italia was summoned by the NCW after a video of him using derogatory language for Prime Minister Narendra Modi went viral on social media. In the viral video, Italia can be seen berating PM Modi and making casteist remarks about him.
