A lion and two cubs have settled in a farm near Devalka of Rajkot’s Sultanpur village which has caused an atmosphere of fear among the villagers.
As per the villagers of Sultanpur, the lion seems to be injured, and also seems to have difficulty in walking. The villagers have informed the forest department about this and have asked them to make arrangements for immediate medical assistance for the injured lion.
Even during Diwali, three lions were spotted in the same region. At first they camped in the villages of Gondal including Vasavad, Ranava, Motadadva. However, they were killed by stray and farm animals. Later they encamped in Kotdasangani.
Because of the sudden increase in the number of lions, the trekking team was called from Junagadh. Just a a week ago, the three lions were caged by the Forest Department after a five hour struggle. The caged lions were then sent to Sasan Gir.
