After weeks of speculation and buzz, sources believe that Patidar leader Hardik Patel will be finally joining Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His inculcation ceremony will be held on June 2 at the BJP Gujarat State Office in Gandhinagar in the presence of party state President C.R. Paatil. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, veteran BJP leaders and other officials will be present at the ceremony.
Following months of discontentment and anger over party’s state leadership, Hardik Patel resigned from Congress earlier this month. In a tweet he said, “Today I courageously resign from the primary membership of the Congress party. I am sure that my decision will be welcomed by all my colleagues and the people of Gujarat. I believe that after this step of mine, I will be able to work really positively for Gujarat in future.”
Ever since his resignation, there has been a lot of buzz regarding his next move. Earlier, it was also believed that Patel might join Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). AAP state president Gopal Italia had extended an invitation to Patel and welcomed him to join his party.
However, later on, when Hardik Patel made pro-BJP comments and talked about how he was a Hindu and proud of his traditions, rumours began that he might indeed embrace the saffron league.
