The trail of 9000 crore heroin caught in Mundra port of Gujarat is now traced in Himachal Pradesh. Himachal has been fighting a perpetual battle to douse the belief of having illegal underground market for international drug smugglers, with limited success.
DRI (Directorate of Revenue Intelligence) arrested three people – two Afghan nationals from Shimla and a UP resident from Kullu in this connection.
Delhi team of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence has arrested a person from Kullu out of 3 detained for questioning. The team obtained the transit remand from Kullu court and left for Mumbai with the arrested person. The action was carried out with the help of Kullu police.
DRI had earlier raided a private hotel in Shimla and arrested two Afghan nationals from there. Both are believed to have played an important role in transporting a large consignment of heroin to India. DRI has left for Delhi along with the arrested persons.
