Home Minister Amit Shah Inaugurates Affordable Housing Project In Gujarat

Union Home Minister Amit Shah through a video conference on Wednesday at the gathering held in accordance with the good governance week inaugurated and laid down the foundation stone for a 468-unit affordable housing project in Bavla worth about Rs 49.36 crore in his Lok Sabha constituency Gandhinagar.

In his address, Shah congratulated Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel for securing the top position of the state in the overall ranking in the Good Governance Index (GGI). He said, “This top rank is a matter of pride for all Gujaratis including him.”

Shah said that in 2021, 1,261 projects worth Rs 1,413 crore were inaugurated in Gandhinagar, his Lok Sabha constituency, while the foundation stone for 106 other projects with an investment of Rs 929 crore was laid.

He even congratulated the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation for completing the redevelopment of 16 gardens. He also talked about two urban primary health centres in sectors 24 and 29 in Gandhinagar.

The 16 gardens redeveloped by GMC are named after Atal Bihar Vajpayee, Swami Vivekanand, Narsimh Maheta, Maharana Pratap, Mahatma Gandhi, BR Ambedkar, Subhas Chandra Bose, Akshar Bag, Sardar Patel, Acharya Padmasagar, Ramkrishna Paramhans, Kabir among others.

Shah alerted the State government against the Covid-19 pandemic situation and stressed on people’s cooperation, without which the pandemic can’t be successfully controlled.

Shah also appealed to the adolescents in the age group of 15-18 to get vaccinated at the earliest when it is their turn from January 3. Shah also asked the administration to be vigilant in view of the rising cases of the coronavirus.

Shah said, “With the change in nature, the cases of coronavirus are increasing again. This time all of us, be it Municipal Corporation, Nagar Palika, Zilla Panchayat or State Governments, have to be vigilant. Shah said, “But unless people are aware and follow the coronavirus guidelines issued by the state government, we cannot control its spread. Everyone has to work together to defeat this. People whose time for the second dose has come, they should take it as soon as possible.”
