“I Feel Like A Badshah!” Says SRK’s Gujarat-based Doppelganger

| Updated: May 8, 2022 18:55

“I did not bother about my looks. But my looks brought all the attention to me,” gushes the 24-year-old Ibrahim Qadri. King Khan’s doppelganger is a native of Gujarat but wins hearts wherever he goes. With over 122k followers on Instagram, he knows his forte and often uploads posts of him replicating famous scenes by Shah Rukh Khan.

He grew up in the small town of Junagadh. As billboard painter to being asked to pose for selfies, Ibrahim has come a long way indeed. “You look like Shah Rukh Khan,” was the oft-repeated refrain. To add some more authenticity, he sported SRK’s hairstyle from Deewana (1992). Today, this SRK fan has gone viral for his resemblance to the star.

In an interesting interview online, Ibrahim revealed how people often confuse him to be SRK. “I couldn’t help the attention I got. After Raees, everyone started mobbing me for selfies thinking the real SRK had made an appearance for the film’s premier! Then there was another incident when I went to watch KKR take on Gujarat Titans in the stadium; everyone took out their cameras and waved at me. For the first time, I felt the love SRK amasses. I felt like a Badshah. But very quickly, I also realized what SRK probably goes through daily. I got swamped and someone tugged me so tight that my t-shirt ripped! It got so bad that I had to call the police to be safely taken out of the stadium. And after rescuing me, the cops asked, ‘SRK sir, ek selfie?’,” he added.

Soon, Ibrahim cultivated SRK’s style and hair as realised that it was also pocketing him some revenue. Now a popular name in the local entertainment circuit in Junagadh and sometimes Ahmedabad, he is often called only to add star quotient. “I am invited to weddings to dance on Chaiyya Chaiyya. But as much as I respect SRK, I also wish people would look beyond my looks and try to know the person behind. It will be a dream come true if one day I get to meet my idol, SRK in person!” he shares.

On his social media accounts, fans flood the comment section stating that they thought that he is SRK himself. One of the fans wrote, “For real I felt this is SRK,” while another stated, “Oh my God! I really thought this was SRK.” “I refuse to believe you are just a doppelganger. It seems like SRK is using a different id,” added another.

On the other hand, SRK is busy with his upcoming movies. The actor will next be seen in Pathaan, a January 2023 release. He is also collaborating with filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani for his next, Dunki. The actor will also star in Atlee.
