India Snatches Last-Minute Victory Over England

Visakhapatnam: In a thrilling display of resilience, India fought back to level the five-match Test series against England with a convincing 106-run victory in the second Test on Monday. Chasing a record target of 399, England’s ‘Bazball’ approach faltered against India’s disciplined bowling attack, collapsing from 67/1 to 292 all out.

Jasprit Bumrah, bagging the Player of the Match award for his nine-wicket haul, led the bowling charge alongside R Ashwin (3/71), Axar Patel (1/75), and Kuldeep Yadav (1/60). India’s bowlers effectively countered England’s aggressive batting style, picking up nine wickets across two sessions to secure a crucial win.

England’s only resistance came from Zak Crawley (73), who displayed a mix of caution and aggression before falling prey to Kuldeep Yadav. Ben Foakes (36) and Tom Hartley (36) provided late resistance with a 55-run stand, but Bumrah dismissed both batsmen to close out the win.

Earlier, India skipper Rohit Sharma praised his bowling attack for stepping up, stating, “Winning a Test in these conditions is not easy. I wanted our bowlers to step up and they did that.” This victory puts India back in contention in the series, which now moves to Rajkot for the third Test starting on February 15th.
