Indian-Origin Family Including 8-Month-Old Kidnapped In California

An eight eight-month-old child is among a family of four kidnapped in Merced County of California in the US. The family of Aroohi Dheri (8-month-old), her mother Jasleen Kaur (27-year-old), her father Jasdeep Singh (36-year-old) and her uncle Amandeep Singh (39-year-old) are of Indian origin. The family runs a business in the 800 block of South Highway 59 south Merced area of the county in California.

Merced County Sheriff’s Department has said that the person believed to have kidnapped them is armed and dangerous. The family was kidnapped from South Highway 59 – a roadway lined with retailers and restaurants.

The police released the person’s pictures were also released. He is seen wearing a sweatshirt with his face covered with a surgical mask and a black and grey hoodie over his shaved head. He is seen carrying a white plastic bag.

Merced County Sheriff Vernon Warnke said that no demands for a ransom were made as yet. “We have got evidence to indicate the individuals involved in this destroyed evidence in an attempt to cover their tracks,” he added. The authorities have made an aircraft available to assist the police and detectives to look for the suspect and the victims.

The Facebook post shared by the Sheriff’s Office said, “We consider the suspect to be armed and dangerous. If you see this person, please call 9.1.1. and do not approach him or the victims. We’re asking that anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect to contact the Merced County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau at 209.385.7445,”
