Indian-Origin Twitter’s VP Of Engineering Sandeep Pandey Confirms To Part Ways After Ten Years To Join Meta

Indian-origin executive Sandeep Pandey, Vice President of engineering at the microblogging and social networking service, Twitter has confirmed to part ways with the company led by his compatriot Parag Agrawal. He has worked for the social media giant for over a decade now.

Pandey is supposed to join artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning teams of Meta after ending his service at Twitter.

At Twitter, Pandey has led the central machine learning, data science and data platform teams since his joining as a staff engineer in 2012. He did his studies from Carnegie Mellon University. Before Twitter, he has worked for global tech-giants-IBM India Research Lab, Google and Yahoo.

He has held various roles across Twitter that included- head of revenue science, senior director of engineering and led the brand and video team.

Pandey is enlisted among a growing record of top executives leaving Twitter-Former VP of Twitter service, Katrina Lane; VP of Health, Ilya Brown; and Max Schmeiser, head of data science. Earlier in the month of May, consumer product leader Kayvon Beykpour and Bruce Falck, head of revenue product were fired by CEO Parag Agrawal.

High-profile departures have climbed up at Twitter after the USD 44 billion acquisition deal was floated by the billionaire Elon Musk, which was later cancelled over a disagreement regarding the actual number of bots on the platform.

Recently, a hiring freeze was announced with Twitter saying it would also pause spending in most of the areas.

Recently, the company laid off approximately 30 percent of its talent acquisition team workforce. Twitter has paused all staffing except for critical business roles as determined by ‘Staff` members.
