India’s Cultural Independence Began When Modi Became PM – RSS’ Swami Paramatmananda Saraswati

| Updated: July 31, 2022 19:34

Swami Paramatmananda Saraswati, today, said that India might be celebrating the 75th year of independence, but the country gained real cultural independence only after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014. He insisted that by the time the Britishers left India, they had already managed to inculcate the Leftist principles among the people. This is why human rights were always a topic of discussion but the duty to humankind was not mentioned.

Talking about Hinduism, Swami Saraswati said that after independence the situation in India was such that Christianity, Islam, Jain, Buddhism and every other religion got the backing from the government. However, Hindus were ashamed of their religion in their own country, Swami Saraswati said. He further said that things changed when PM Modi took the reigns of the country. He said that the concept of ‘Swa’ or ‘Self’ cannot exist without Hinduism, and so strengthening this religion is extremely important.

“Today, the world is acknowledging the glory of Hinduism. This is a religion that teaches the concept of ‘Self’ and encourages people to be proud of their origins, their religion and themselves,” the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) member said.

Swami Saraswati, who is a member of the National Committee for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, was speaking at an event organized by the Bopal branch of RSS at Jodhpur Tekra in Ahmedabad. the programme was titled Swaraj @75 Sangharsh Bharat Ke ‘Swa’ Ka.

Swami Paramatmananda Saraswati also highlighted how the Sangh was able to convince the Gujarat government to include teachings of the Bhagwad Gita in the school syllabus. He also said that some factions resisted this move as they did not understand the importance of the Gita.
During this event, the department convenor Dr Haresh Thakkar also said, “Historical Swaraj started after 2014. The British government shook our pride, but after 2014 we have leaders who are proud of Indianness, proud of being Hindus, and don’t hide it.”

Furthermore, he said, “The Left is destroying the value of life. However, after Modi-government came to power, the Left has sidelined itself from politics and made literature, cinema and history its weapon.”

Swami Paramatmanand Saraswati’s book “Swaraj @75 Sangharsh Bharat Ke ‘Swa'” was also unveiled during this programme. More than 300 people who came to the event were presented with a sapling of holy Tulsi.
