Savitri Jindal has seen her fortune rise by $12 billion in the last two years. Jindal is the richest woman, with a net worth of $18 billion, and the only woman in the top ten of Forbes’ list of the richest Indians in 2021. She inherited her husband’s steel and power conglomerate after his untimely death in 2005.

She is now the Chairperson Emeritus of the OP Jindal Group, whose revenue increased fourfold under her leadership.

Savitri was born on March 20, 1950, in Tinsukia, Assam, and married OP Jindal in the 1970s. In addition to being a successful businessman, her husband was a minister in the Haryana government and a member of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha from the Hisar constituency.

Om Prakash Jindal, Savitri Jindal’s husband, died in a helicopter crash when she was 55 years old. Savitri Jindal took over her late husband’s business empire at a time when most people retire.

Savitri belongs to the Indian National Congress party. She was elected to the Haryana Vidhan Sabha from the Hisar constituency in 2005. She lost the 2014 elections.

Savitri Jindal, the mother of nine children, has four sons: Prithviraj, Sajjan, Ratan, and Naveen Jindal. Following his death, the group’s assets were divided among these four, with Sajjan Jindal controlling the majority of them, including JSW Steel.

Savitri Jindal’s net worth more than tripled between 2020 and 2022, rising from $4.8 billion to $17.7 billion. She, like many other billionaires, saw her wealth grow in the first half of 2021.
