IPL 2022: Who Won What This Season?

The power-packed season of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 concluded on Sunday with a new entry to the winner’s list of 15 editions. The newbies Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad and lifted their maiden trophy of the IPL.

With this, Gujarat Titans’ lead Hardik Pandya became the fourth Indian captain to win the league after MS Dhoni, Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma. This season had many firsts, including the introduction of two new teams and it also concluded with one of these new teams winning the trophy. This year, as there were ten teams to play the league, the format of the tournament was also different than the previous seasons at the group stage.

Four teams who qualified for the play-offs were Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants and the last match entry – Royal Challengers Banglore.

However, with Gujarat Titans (GT) bagging the trophy, let us have a look at the winners of different titles of the IPL 2022:

  • IPL 2022 Orange Cap holder was Rajasthan Royals’ star batsman Jos Buttler for most runs in the season.
  • Purple Cap Winner was Rajasthan Royals’ spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for the most wickets in the 2022 season.
  • IPL 2022 Emerging Player of the Season title was won by Sunrisers Hyderabad’s young player Umran Malik.
  • Sixes Award Of The Season was won by Rajasthan Royals’ most in-form batsman Jos Buttler.
  • Fours Of The Season Award was also won by RR’s Jos Buttler.
  • Super Striker of the season title was won by RCB’s Dinesh Karthik with the highest strike rate of 183.33.
  • The fastest Delivery Of The Season award was bagged by Gujarat Titans’ Lockie Ferguson for his 157.3 KMPH bowling delivery.
  • IPL Catch of the Season was awarded to Lucknow Super Giants’ Evin Lewis.
  • ‘Game Changer Of The Season’, ‘Most Valuable Player Of The Season’ and ‘Powerplayer Of The Season’ titles were awarded to RR’s Jos Buttler.
  • Fairplay Award of the season was won by both – Gujarat Titans & Rajasthan Royals.
  • Rajasthan Royals finished as ‘Runners-up’ of IPL 2022 and the Gujarat Titans lifted the trophy as ‘Winners’ of the 15th edition of the tournament.
