IPL: Adani Group May Get The Rights Of Ahmedabad Franchise

| Updated: December 1, 2021 14:43

Ahmedabad was waiting for it’s own IPL Team for quite some time now. After the debacle of Gujarat Lions, people had high Hopes that Ahmedabad will get it’s own IPL team.

As the 2022 Season of the IPL will be a ten Team Tournament, an auction was held for two more Teams. Lucknow and Ahmedabad emerged as two new teams, with Sanjeev Goenka’s RPSG Group winning the bid for Lucknow at Rs 7090 crores and CVC group winning bid for the Ahmedabad Franchise at Rs 5625 crores which was Rs 500 crores more than Adani Group’s bid.

But, after CVC group’s active investment in a betting platform has emerged, things may change for Ahmedabad Franchise as BCCI has rules in place against betting. The BCCI will meet on December 3 and decide the future course of action for the same.

As BCCI rules are against betting related activities. Ahmedabad based Adani Group may get the rights of the Ahmedabad Franchise. It will be really interesting as a Gujarati will own a Ahmedabad based Franchise.

It will be a cherry on top kind of moment for people of Ahmedabad as someone from Ahmedabad will own the Franchise and matches will be held at the World’s Largest Cricket Stadium.
