| Updated: July 27, 2022 17:13

Gujarat Education Minister Jitu Vaghani today announced that the government has organized a special campaign from July 28 to July 30 to administer free precautionary doses of the covid vaccine to healthcare and frontline workers. The Anganwadi workers and other healthcare workers are currently involved in the organization of the campaign. In order to make this campaign a success, the government departments will coordinate with different offices and businesses to set up vaccination sessions for the frontline workers.

This campaign will be part of Covid Vaccination Amrit Mahotsav, which gives people aged between 18 and 59 access to a free precautionary dose of vaccine. This dose will be offered free of charge to the citizens in the said age group until September 30, 2022. An estimated 4 crore eligible people will get the benefit of this precautionary dose. More than 12,000 trained health workers in at least 6000 Covid vaccination centres will be involved in this campaign.

Vaghani also said that centres for the first and second doses of vaccination will also be available at various government institutions and public places. He said that the government aims to provide a third dose of vaccine to a maximum number of beneficiaries in the next 75 days.
