| Updated: February 5, 2024 17:54

The makers of Kiran Rao’s upcoming film Laapataa Ladies have released the first single from the soundtrack, called Doubtwa. The song takes the plot forward from where the trailer left off, showing the intriguing case of a ‘lost bride’. The trailer, which was released recently, introduced the audience to the quirky and suspenseful story of the film. The film is slated to release on 1st of March.

The song Doubtwa is a catchy and upbeat song that gives a wider view of the story. It is sung by Sukhwinder Singh, composed by Ram Sampath, and written by Divyanidhi Sharma. The lyrical video features a cop, played by Ravi Kishan, who is on a mission to solve the mystery of a missing bride, who he suspects is a woman from the village. However, the bride always manages to outsmart him and escape his chase. The film revolves around a man who discovers that he has brought home the wrong bride after his wedding. Meanwhile, another man reports his wife missing to a cynical and mocking police officer, played by Ravi.

The film stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Ravi and Chhaya Kadam in the lead roles. The film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) last year and its trailer was attached to the theatrical prints of the Siddharth Anand-directed aerial action drama Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor.

The film is presented by Jio Studios and co-produced by Jyoti Deshpande’s Jio Studios. It is made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions, with the script based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami. The screenplay & dialogue are written by Sneha Desai, while the additional dialogues by Divyanidhi Sharma.
