The accused, Dinesh Baisane lured the girl and then raped her. It was also found that Dinesh was to take his mother to hospital that day but instead of doing so, he committed these heinous offences.
The girl went missing on December 7 under mysterious circumstances while she was playing near her home in Pandesara area.
Acting on the complaint of the girl’s family, Pandesara police began to search for her. She was found dead in the bushes near Laxminarayan Industry, BRC compound, Udha. Police seized the girl’s body and registered a case of murder. After the forensic report came, it was learnt that the girl had also been raped. Police then arrested accused Dinesh Baisane in the case.
The police had completed the investigation in the rape and murder case and filed a chargesheet against Dinesh on December 21, 2020. In the rape-murder of a 10-year-old girl in Pandesara, Surat, Pandesara police included 250-page chargesheet with 36 witnesses, CCTV footage, DNA, in just 13 days after the police filed the chargesheet on December 21. The hearing was completed.
A case was registered against Dinesh under sections 302, 376-AB, 363 and 366 of the Indian Penal Code.
Nayan Sukhadwala, Surat District government advocate said, ” This can be called a very serious type of murder as the manner in which the child was killed after being raped, was very serious. We proved all the evidence in court. The postmortem report was important. Based on the postmortem and DNA, we determined that the girl had also been abused.”
