Mukesh Ambani Drops Hint Of Succession Plan At Reliance On Dhirubhai’s Birth Anniversary

On The birth anniversary of Dhirubhai Ambani, India’s richest man and the Chaiman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited Mukesh Ambani has dropped hints of giving more responsibilities to the new generations.

An iconic entrepreneur Dhirubhai started Reliance from very humble beginning to make it one of India’s most successful business empires during his lifetime. Of his two sons, Mukesh Ambani, with the share he received after a public and unsavoury succession battle with his younger brother Anil Ambani, has made the empire grow manifold. With business interests from energy to telecom to retail, Mukesh Ambani has expanded the businesses and has retained the tag of India’s richest man since long.

Recently, the news appeared that not wanting to repeat the fracas for the succession of his father, Mukesh Ambani has started the preparation for smooth succession of his legacy earlier. It is believed that the Reliance will adopt the wallmart model when it comes to succession.

Mukesh and Nita Ambani has three children -the twins Isha and Akash and Anant. Mukesh Ambani has said that ” Reliance is now in the process of effecting a momentous leadership transition … from seniors belonging to my generation to the next generation of young leaders.”

Mukesh Ambani,64 has also aid that he does not have any doubt that Akash, Isha and Anant as the next-gen leaders will lead Relance to even greater heights. Significantly, he said, he would like the process “to be accelerated.”
