Seven defendants in the Morbi suspension bridge tragedy were denied bail by the court. The court has received bail applications from seven of the nine formerly detained suspects. The court today discussed their application.

Earlier, the police had brought Oreva’s Managing Director Jaysukh Patel before the judge and asked for police custody. The court ordered 14-day police custody. Patel was given permission to remain in custody until August 8.

The collapse of the Morbi Bridge, which shocked Gujarat and all of India, claimed 135 lives and left 56 people injured. The proprietor of Oreva Company, Jaysukh Patel, has received a lot of support in the Morbi incident. Umiadham has backed Jaysukh Patel, who is the prime accused in connection with the Morbi incident.

On social media, a leaflet in favour of Jaysukh Patel of Sidsar Umiadham has gone viral. Jaysukh Patel is portrayed as the society’s leader in this leaflet.
