Mumbai-based pharmaceutical company Wockhardt has entered into an agreement with Dubai-based Enso Healthcare DMCC and Human Vaccine (HV) LLC, for the manufacture and supply of the Sputnik V and Sputnik Light vaccine against Covid-19, as per a statement issued by the pharmaceutical company on Friday.
It further said that with subject to required approvals and successful transfer from HV to the company, the company will supply up to 620 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine and the Sputnik Light vaccine.
The agreement between the Company, HV, Enso was reached under the aegis of Enso, RDIF’s co-ordination partner for sourcing Sputnik vaccine in India.
India is the leading production hub for Sputnik V with RDIF signing agreements with pharmaceutical companies such as Gland Pharma, Hetero Biopharma, Panacea Biotec, Stelis Biopharma, Virchow Biotech and Morepen Laboratories for local production of the vaccine.
