| Updated: August 4, 2022 09:56

A Group of seven men attacked the Nadiad Railway Police stationed at the police outpost at Mahemdavad Railway Station on Wednesday. The group threw stones at the police, barged into the outpost and assaulted the officers with sticks. Two police officers suffered severe injuries during the incident.

The group was led by Sahil Vora alias Deewan, who has been booked by the police in a case. Vora claimed that the officers had booked him in a false case. He then threatened to kill the officers in the matter.

The men then started assaulting the officers, who were outnumbered. The officers locked themselves inside the outpost but the attackers broke through the doors and continued to bet up the officers.

Police constable Ravi Chauhan received a fracture on his right hand, and Head Constable Dilipbhai suffered a fracture on his right leg. The two officers have filed a case against the seven men.

The attackers have identified and filed a complaint against Sahil Vora alias Deewan, Kishan Thakor, Himmatsinh Parmar, Sagar Parmar and Raees. Two other unidentified men have also been mentioned in the complaint.
