As the National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the Centre-wise and city-wise results of the NEET UG 2024 examination on the orders of the Supreme Court, instead of answering the questions, it has raised new and more uncomfortable questions. Though nothing substantially implicating could be found at the centres believed to have indulged in malpractice, RK University of Rajkot and Sikar Examination Center of Rajasthan were mostly noteworthy for it’s abnormal pattern.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the centre-wise and city-wise results of NEET-UG-2024 on Saturday i.e., 20 July 2024, for the first time on the orders of the Supreme Court. Startling details emerged upon analyzing the results with the Rajkot Centre in Gujarat becoming the most talked about with 85% of students succeeded from this single centre.
It was revealed that 12 students from Rajkot centre have scored more than 700 marks and 115 students have scored more than 600 marks. 1968 students took the exam at the centre number 22701 of Rajkot. In this exams 269 students got more than 600 marks, and 403 students got more than 550 marks. The Rajkot result has sparked a nationwide debate and has sparked a new controversy.
In another gaffe, by intent or error, it is found that a student received an increase of 400 marks from his result on 4th June. The person with 233 marks initially has now 633 Marks. In another instance, the marks of a candidate went from 379 to 460. A total of 16 students have improved their results and have appeared on the merit list. 85% of the students who appeared for the exam in RK University passed the exam.
RK University has been in the news regarding the approval of Homeopathy College earlier. In the year 2016, the CBI raided R.K. University and registered a case against Vice President Denish Patel and Assistant Director of Indian Systems of Medicine and Homeopathy (AYUSH), Gujarat R.D Patel. Narendra Solanki, president of Gujarat region NSUI, had raised questions on the role of RK University and demanded a CBI investigation.
The Rajkot Centre result is normally good every year. This year, the NEET exam was conducted at a total of 184 Centers in the state, including 7 Centers in Rajkot which include RK University of Rajkot, Marwari University, Christ College, Sarvodaya School, Atmiya University Wing A, Atmiya University Wing B and A. V. Jasani Vidyamandir.
All eyes were on the Godhra Center as it was in the eye of the controversy during the NEET UG exam. A case had been registered. and the investigation was handed over to the CBI. Instead, Rajkot burst into the limelight.
