New Office Bearers Appointed at Ahmedabad PRSI Chapter

The Ahmedabad Chapter of the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the fiscal year 2024-25 at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) on Friday. The meeting was attended by more than 50% members of the association.

Following consensus among members regarding the new leadership structure with Vicky Shah, Founder of Vacha Consultancy, taking over as the new chairman of the PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter. Shah succeeds Nikhil Aboti, Founder of Kinesis Communications, who served as Chairman for the period on 2023-2025. Santosh Zokarkar, PR (Media and Communication) at Anant National University, will serve as the new Vice Chairman of the chapter.

Other office bearers continuing in their respective roles include Trilok Sanghani as Secretary, Hemant Sadkar as Treasurer, and Bijal Thakkar as Joint Secretary.

Addressing the members, the newly appointed Chairman, Vicky Shah, outlined his vision for an inclusive, engaging, and forward-looking chapter. Shah emphasised the need to strengthen networking opportunities, encourage young professionals to join PRSI, and boost the chapter’s visibility through collaborative events.

Outgoing Chairman, Nikhil Aboti, expressed confidence in the new leadership and reaffirmed his continued support for the chapter’s initiatives. He thanked the members for their consistent support during his tenure and highlighted key milestones achieved over the past two years.

The chapter aims to continue expanding its membership base, especially encouraging more participation from women professionals as well as from academia.

Recognising and motivating active members remains a priority, with the chapter set to internally honour individuals contributing the most in terms of event participation, member referrals, and sponsorship support.

The AGM also included a review of the chapter’s financial status and activities undertaken during 2024-25. Bijal Thakkar, Jt Secretary presented the financial report and informed members about steps being taken to streamline audits and financial reporting. The chapter will continue with its decision to appoint an independent auditor for greater transparency.
