Paintbrush brings alive Buddha and his meditation

| Updated: September 8, 2021 08:48

When we entered L&P Hutheesing Visual Art Centre the atmosphere was meditative and so was the theme of the art exhibition. The Way of Buddha, a solo exhibition by Ragini Fozdar showcased handpainted works in acrylic colours.

According to Ragini her core inspiration behind this theme was her father whose characteristics, according to her, match a lot to that of Buddha. She also conveyed how fascinated she is by Buddha and how Buddha was her source of strength during the pandemic, and always brought her peace during tough times.

Art curator Anil Relia inaugurating the exhibition

On her first gallery exhibition, Ragini said, “He exhibits calm, patience and joy. He has affected me a lot in my life, his message is extraordinary. In a pandemic, we are in panic mode and Buddha gives calmness, joy and peace hence I chose this theme. I think there is some past life connection with him that’s why I picked this theme”. She did her graduation from CN College of Fine Arts, Ahmedabad. Her father was a musician.

The exhibition was inaugurated by senior art entrepreneur Anil Relia. “When we see the Buddha sculptures in the market, they are either monochromatic or have just a few colours. But here, she has used every colour in the palette and has conveyed her expressions beautifully through her art, ” said Relia.

Her paintings are named as: I am within, The Purity, The Sun and Moon, Core Meditation, Midas Touch, etc . The exhibition is open for public till Sept 8 at the L & P Hutheesingh Visual Art Centre, Kasturbhai Lalbhai Campus CEPT, Navrangpura.
