Pakistan Cap – Babar Azam’s Father In Tears After Win Over India In T20I World Cup

| Updated: October 25, 2021 08:33

Led by 27-year-old Babar Azam, Pakistan handed India their opening match defeat in ICC T20 World Cup 2021by a historic 10-wicket victory. In Group 2 match of Super 12 stage of the tournament, Pakistan broke their 29-year-old spell of not winning a single match against India at the World Cup tournaments. Elated with joy, Azam Siddique, Babar Azam’s proud father was seen emotional in the stands of Dubai International Stadium.

Babar Azam’s father broke into tears after witnessing Pakistan’s historic win and Babar Azam’s unbeaten 68 runs knock in the match. The video shows his father getting emotional and getting congratulated by the people around him in the stands. A Twitter user shared his father’s video and wrote, “Babar Azam father crying in tears of joy after his son became the first ever Pakistani captain to beat India in a world cup match…”

Winning the toss, Pakistan elected to field first and restricted India to a decent 151 runs with a loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Early wickets of the opening batsmen by Shaheen Shah Afridi kept Pakistan in a good position since the match started. Despite Indian skipper Virat Kohli scoring a half century, nothing went wrong for Pakistan on Sunday.
