Amidst the tussle over non-veg food and egg lorries in Gujarat for the last few days, state Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel made an important announcement at the BJP’s Snehmilan program in Anand.
The drive against sellers of meat-based food reportedly began in the BJP ruled civic body Rajkot, where the municipal corporation issued an informal order removing carts selling non-veg and egg-based items.
Gujarat CM addressing the pool in Anand said that people are free to eat whatever they want and that there was no question of veg or non-veg.

“The issue of veg and non-veg has been on the rise for the last two days and I have no question whether one eats veg or non veg given that the food sold in the truck does not cause harm to health.”, he said.
On the subject of banning lorries from the streets, he said that If there was a need to remove the obstructed lorries, the corporation could remove it.
This announcement of the Chief Minister is considered important as Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Junagadh municipalities have taken strict action against the sale of non-veg and egg lorries in public and have also seized some lorries in these cities which has affected the livelihood of many people.
Apart from this, a campaign against non-veg has also been announced in Ahmedabad from Tuesday for prohibiting Non-veg or egg sellers near public roads, halls, gardens, schools.
