Prime Minister Narendra Modi dived into the deep waters off the coast of Gujarat’s Dwarka to offer prayers at the submerged city of the Dwarkadhish Temple. The Prime Minister described the experience as “divine” and said he felt a connection to an ancient era of spiritual grandeur.
The Prime Minister took to social media to share his unique experience. “To pray in the city of Dwarka, which is immersed in the waters, was a very divine experience. I felt connected to an ancient era of spiritual grandeur and timeless devotion. May Bhagwan Shri Krishna bless us all,” he wrote.
Dwarka, a city steeped in mythology and revered in Hindu scriptures, was once ruled by Lord Krishna. According to Hindu belief, the city was swallowed by the sea following Krishna’s departure from Earth, leaving behind a rich underwater heritage.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Sudarshan Setu, a four-lane cable-stayed bridge that connects Okha to Beyt Dwarka island. The inauguration marks a significant development in enhancing connectivity in the region.
