| Updated: June 29, 2022 12:18

Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Surat this morning, where he was welcomed by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. PM Modi then drove to Navsari, where he, along with CM Patel, addressed the Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan gathering.

First, CM Patel took the stage, where he applauded PM Modi’s vision for Gujarat and his efforts to support developmental projects in the state. He also said that with PM Modi’s guidance, he and his government in Gujarat is committed to bringing about change for the people in the state.

PM Modi expressed his happiness at seeing thousands of people gathered at the event, saying that this was proof of people’s confidence in his government. He also praised the governance of Bhupendra Patel and C.R. Paatil in the state. He stated, “I am feeling really proud looking at this massive gathering. The way Jodi of Bhupendrabhai and Paatilji has pulled this off is something that I have always wished for.”

PM Modi then went on to elaborate on the developmental projects that will be launched in Navsari, Tapi, Surat and South Gujarat today.  He stated that these projects, totalling more than Rs3,000 crores, will greatly benefit the people of the state. “These projects will connect the regions with development and prosperity,” he said. He said that the various initiatives being launched will improve water supply and enhance ease of living.

Talking about the people of the state, PM Modi said that his government has always been with the poor and downtrodden people of India. He appreciated the support and love of the people that allowed him to take the position of Prime Minister of India eight years ago. “In the last 8 years, following the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, our government has laid maximum emphasis on the welfare of the poor, on providing basic facilities to the poor,” he said.

During his one-day visit to Gujarat, besides Navsari, PM Modi will also visit Ahmedabad. Together in both these places he will lay foundation for developmental projects worth Rs3000 crores.

In Navsari, PM Modi will inaugurate the AM Naik Healthcare Complex, Nirali Multi Speciality Hospital and Kharel education complex. These projects are aimed at making many essential services available for people of southern Gujarat.

In Ahmedabad, PM Modi will be inaugurating the head-quarter of Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), which will play an anchoring role in transforming the space sector of India.

Furthermore, PM Modi will perform the Bhumi Pujan for 13 water supply projects for residents of Tapi, Navsari and Surat districts, worth Rs961 crores. He will also inaugurate Madhuban dam based Astol regional water supply project, built at the cost of about Rs586 crores. Projects worth Rs163 crores under the ‘Nal Se Jal’ initiative will also be launched today. These projects will provide safe and adequate drinking water to the residents of Surat, Navsari, Valsad and Tapi districts.
