PM Modi To Chair National Conference Of Chief Secretaries

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the second National Conference of Chief Secretaries in New Delhi today also on its concluding day.

PM Modi said, this is a wonderful forum to exchange views on important policy-related subjects and to strengthen team spirit to take India to newer heights.

The Conference is committed to achieving rapid and sustainable economic growth in collaboration with the states. The conference’s premise is that cooperative federalism, achieved through Central Ministries and Departments collaborating with States in seamless coordination, is a critical pillar for New India’s development and progress.With this vision in mind, PM Modi conceptualised this conference, which was held for the first time last year in Dharamshala.

The conference is attended by over 200 people, including representatives from the Central Government, Chief Secretaries and other senior officials from States and Union Territories, as well as domain experts.

The discussion during the conference will be held on six identified themes. These are Thrust on MSMEs, Infrastructure, and Investments, Minimising Compliances, Women’s Empowerment, Health and Nutrition, and Skill Development.

In the last eight years, PM Modi has worked to make the process of policy-making and implementation more collaborative and consultative, thus making India more federally governed.
