Dudhai village in Anjar taluka of Kutch came under the spotlight as a controversial video went viral on social media, following the results of the recently-concluded Gram Panchayat elections.
In the video, police are seen chasing crowds chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.
The panchayat poll results were announced on Tuesday evening in Dudhai Patti, a village with 4,200 voters. Rinaben Ranghubhai Kothiwad was the declared winner and the sarpanch at Dudhai, winning with 1,026 votes. Allegedly, her supporters celebrating the victory in a rally chanted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.
Kothiwad’s husband Raghu Bhai has denied any such incident of sloganeering related to her winning rally. The matter is under investigation.
