Gujarat has now become the focal point for drug smuggling and women have also jumped into the drug business of selling hash and marijuana under the guise of beauty. Over the last few days, drugs worth crores have been seized from different parts of the state and the trail still continues.
In one such case in Vadodara, the police have nabbed four young persons – identified as Mit Thakkar, Nupur Sehgal, Saqib and Mohsin, who were selling cannabis and marijuana and drugged young men with a quantity of drugs. Police has seized 562.18 grams of cannabis, 10.25 grams of marijuana, etc. from the group.
Among the accused arrested, Shakib Saeed Munshi is a student in IT Management and Mit Thakkar is in Diploma in Computer Science.
A shocking revelation has come out that this group from Vadodara, besides Vadodara, has supplied drugs to a number of young men and women in Vallabh Vidyanagar and pushed them to the brink of ruin.
The women caught from the Old Padra Road area of the city, have been involved in drug trafficking for a long time. Following the information received by the PCB branch of Vadodara Police, which is responsible for crime prevention, their team raided the well-known Avishkar Complex in the Old Padra Road area. In the basement of the complex, Saqib and Mohsin, the brother-sister duo kept marijuana and sold it to the youth.
The police took the two into custody for further interrogation and investigation which revealed that the two brothers and sisters had been using drugs for the last one year and were bringing marijuana from Dilip of Chaklasi village in Anand.
Importantly, these four young men and women are more educated than the drug business in Vadodara. Every day about 20 young men and women buy drug paraphernalia from this group. Police are now proposing to take action against all those who took marijuana from them based on their mobile WhatsApp chats and call details. It is suspected that the group has a wide drug business network in Vadodara.
