Union Home and Co-operation Minister Shri Amit Shah addressed as the chief guest at the 37th founding day celebrations of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) in New Delhi today.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, Shri Ajay Kumar Mishra, Union Home Secretary, Director NCRB and senior officials of Home Ministry and Police were also present in the occasion. Amit Shah is the first Union Home Minister to attend the NCRB Foundation Day celebrations.
The Union Home Minister said that it was a day of joy for all those involved in the internal security of the country that today NCRB was celebrating its 37th founding day. “If an organization works continuously for 37 years, it determines the relevance of its work. Whatever the government, NCRB has always got strength and courage because of its usefulness.”
“Strategies can only be created when the current challenge is analyzed and the facts are in front of us. We are aware of the resources available to meet the challenges and analyze the speed difference between the two and make it a part of the strategy,” he said. Shah said that NCRB has a huge role to play in the internal security of the country, especially in maintaining law and order situation.
Focusing on the educational aspect, Shah said that they need to see what is happening with big educational institutions and new hostels and what work is going on around it. The solution cannot be found by looking at them only from the point of view of IPC, it should be analyzed separately and this is the responsibility of NCRB and BPR & D. Together, they should analyze it separately and present the paper at the DGP conference with the solution and discuss it with the states and organize a workshop. “Unless we provide all these facilities to the person sitting in the police station from IPS officers, we will not get the benefit and it is the responsibility of NCRB,” he said.
