Public Welfare Projects get Rs 455 Crore Boost from Gujarat CM

To improve the quality of life in urban areas, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced Rs 455.35 crore for various public welfare projects. The funds are part of the Golden Jubilee Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme, which was launched by the Prime Minister in 2010 when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, to promote systematic and orderly urban development. As per the approved proposal, CM Patel sanctioned Rs 185.30 crore for 69 different works, such as 41 road works, 14 drainage works, 2 stormwater drainage works and 12 water and light works. He also gave the green light to Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for developing the outlying areas in the year 2023-24.

In addition, Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation received Rs 20.95 crore for 18 works, including roads, RCC, paver roads, stormwater pipelines, lake beautification, bridge construction and road widening in the peripheral areas of the city.

The Chief Minister also authorized 21 works in Junagadh under the Golden Jubilee Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme, such as road and drainage work, road renewal, the footpath on both sides of the main road, paver and so on, at a total cost of Rs 17.61 crore.

Jamnagar Municipal Corporation will also get Rs 19.85 crore for 9 development works in the outskirts. The Golden Jubilee Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme also provides funds to cities and towns for the work of physical infrastructure facilities.
