Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the AAP, stated that it is possible that Raghav Chadha could be arrested shortly. Raghav Chadha, an AAP Rajya Sabha nominee from Punjab, is appointed co-in-charge of Gujarat in advance of the elections.
Raghav Chadha was an MLA from Delhi’s Rajinder Nagar and the vice chairman of the Delhi Jal Board before the party dispatched him to Punjab as co-in-charge ahead of the Assembly elections. AAP was victorious in the elections.
“Since Chadha was nominated co-in-charge of Gujarat and began campaigning in the state, we’ve been hearing that these individuals will now arrest him. “The case and allegations are still being formulated,” Kejriwal wrote on Twitter.
AAP has been at the centre of issues for the past three and a half months. It began with the arrest of its minister Satyendar Jain by the Enforcement Directorate for alleged money laundering. He has been incarcerated for four months.
Subsequently, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi V K Saxena recommended a CBI investigation into the now-repealed Delhi liquor legislation. Within weeks, the CBI filed a First Information Report (FIR) against fifteen individuals, including Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and AAP’s communication head Vivek Nair. While Sisodia’s home was searched and his bank safe-deposit box was examined, Nair was arrested earlier this week by the investigative agency.
Earlier this month, another AAP MLA, Durgesh Pathak, was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate on the liquor policy.
