Rajasthan CM Gehlot Transfers ₹1,000 Cr To 5M Pension Scheme Beneficiaries

| Updated: July 12, 2023 17:19

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, on Wednesday, transferred over ₹1,000 crore to 5 million beneficiaries of the Social Security Pension Scheme through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

During an interaction with beneficiaries of the Social Security Pension Scheme at his residence in Jaipur, Gehlot highlighted that his single-engine government was delivering more for the people and was also more reliable than the double-engine approach. He referred to the BJP-led government’s failures in several areas, stating that their double-engine was faltering in many places.

On this occasion, the CM facilitated the transfer of over ₹1,005 crore to the bank accounts of 5.12 million beneficiaries of the scheme through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) as pension for May-June.

“The real engine is this (Rajasthan) government… Despite being a single-engine government, we are accomplishing tasks that the double-engine governments across the country are unable to do,” Gehlot proudly proclaimed.

He emphasised that the schemes introduced by the Congress government in Rajasthan had not been implemented in any other state. Gehlot assured the people that their government, with a single engine, was indeed safer and reliable.

Gehlot further announced that the state government would enact a law to ensure pensions under social security. He pledged that there would be no shortage in providing minimum income and social security to the common man.

In the upcoming assembly session, legislation would be introduced to address social security pension and employment guarantee. Additionally, the monthly minimum pension amount would witness a 15% increase every year, and Rajasthan would ensure a minimum of 125 days of employment under the MGNREGA and the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme, the CM assured.
