A farmer in Rajasthan reportedly died by suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling. He left a six pages long suicide note where he mentioned about being attacked and tortured by the lenders four days ago. He had taken a loan by mortgaging his farm. Failing to repay the loan, the lenders began to pressurize him and later took charge of the land he had mortgaged.

The incident is from the Dholpur district of Rajasthan where the farmer identified as Rakesh Singh (40) had taken a loan of Rs 3 lakhs for his daughter’s marriage last year. He had mortgaged 3.5 bigha of his land. While there was no repayment date or time set, he had reportedly paid the interests. However, the lenders continued to pressurize him to repay the loan and later took charge of the land registered under his name. Following which, he took the extreme step.

The relatives saw his body hanging, the next day and informed the Sadar police station. The police found a six pages long suicide note which mentioned the names of the lenders including Mukesh Master and Bharat Jatav. In the letter, he wrote that he was attacked by the lenders four days ago. He demanded action against the accused in the letter.
