Jaipur Schools have been closed until January 14, 2023 as Rajasthan struggles with the bitter cold. The Jaipur District administration has officially announced that the winter break for students in Grades 1 through 8 will now last until January 14, 2023.

Earlier, Schools in Jaipur had been ordered to stay closed till January 7, 2023 owing to the ongoing cold wave in North India. However, a fresh order has been issued to extend the holidays till January 14, 2023. Schools are expected to reopen from January 16, 2023 onwards. The official order issued by the district government has been shared below for reference.

The official notice said that “In view of the increase in the outbreak of cold weather and the possibility of a cold wave in the coming few days, a holiday has been declared in Jaipur till January 14, 2023 till Class 8th in all government and non government schools in the district.”

In Rajasthan, Baran district schools have also been ordered to remain shut till January 9, 2023. The winter vacation has been extended. The schools will now reopen on January 10, 2023.

The Indian Meteorological Department  has issued a warning regarding a drop in temperatures across North India. Delhi NCR region, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness extreme cold weather in the coming few days.
