Rashtriya Raksha University And MTE Mahow Conducts First-Ever Indian Army Hackathon

Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) in collaboration with the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering, Mahow conducted the first-ever hackathon for the Indian Army over the last three months. Gen M M Naravane, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC, Chief of the Army Staff along with Colonel Nidhish Bhatnagar, Director, School of Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security, Rashtriya Raksha University, distributed prizes worth INR 15 lac amongst the winners.

RRU is an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. It is based in Gandhinagar Gujarat, the University educates the students in matters related to National Security and the Policing University of India.

On the occasion, RRU Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Bimal Patel stated that cyber is now a way of life across all sectors and touches almost everyone. He said,” The exploitation of vulnerabilities in the system is being exploited by criminals and adversaries alike, and this is emerging as the biggest threat to a peaceful and law-abiding life”.

Gen M M Naravane, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC, Chief of the Army Staff complimented all participants and congratulated the winners. General Naravane also mentioned that cyber threats are one of the most critical challenges faced by India today, and the Indian Army has taken several steps to consolidate its capabilities in the cyber domain.
