Following her summons to the Khar police station, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut recorded a statement concerning the FIR lodged against her for her alleged derogatory remark against the farmer protests. On her Instagram account, Kangana said ‘…This country devalues nationalists’.
The actor had approached the Bombay High Court earlier in December to quash the FIR registered against her for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community. The FIR was filed by Amarjeet Singh Sandhu, along with leaders of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).
Kangana shared a picture of herself in a saree and without a mask as she reached Khar PS, and wrote, ‘Another day another visit to police station… hundreds of politically motivated FIR’S and hours and questioning…’, alluding to her repeated questioning by law enforcement.
‘This country… continues to ill-treat and devalue nationalists … if you love your nation you are on your own against a very powerful enemy. Those in power would prioritise vote banks and for that they can even encourage terrorism… it’s a lonely road and …it’s alright #jaihind’, she further wrote.
