This Republic Day is all set to showcase the grandest display ever. A set of 75 aircrafts from the Army, Air Force and Navy will take part in the glorious flypast showcasing India’s military strength. In sync with the thematic Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, this year’s parade will also display five Rafale jets that will proudly fly over the Rajpath in three formations: Vinaash, Baaz and Vijay.
The Indian Air force recently unveiled its tableau for the Republic Day celebrations. The pageant on wheels has put together its light combat helicopters (LCH), armed with AT Dhruvastra missile, Ashlesha Mk1 radar, Gnat, Rafale and Mig 21.
Indian Navy’s MiG29K and P-8I Reconnaissance aircraft which were deployed in Ladakh and earlier in Doklam to pick up Chinese signals will fly in the Varuna formation. Nearly 17 Jaguar fighter aircraft will soar the skies in the 75-shape formation, informed IAF PRO Wing Commander Indranil Nandi.
Besides this, the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) will fly in Rudra formation along with four Mi17 V5 aircraft will also be a part of the largest flypast. The Rafale will be seen in three formations. The Vinash formation will have five Rafale jets, Baaz formation will have one Rafale, flanked by two Jaguars, two Su-30s and two MiG 29s. A single Rafale will perform the Vertical Charlie in the Vijay formation.
