Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, who was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha, is currently in Gujarat for the Republic Day celebrations. The actor was seen near the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, where he paid his respects to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of independent India.
The Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, stands in honour of Patel, who played a crucial role in the political integration of India.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a senior leader of the Indian National Congress (INC), was one of Mahatma Gandhi’s earliest political lieutenants. He organised peasants in Gujarat, particularly in Kheda, Borsad, and Bardoli, in non-violent civil disobedience movements against the British Raj.
Patel’s leadership and contributions have made him one of the most influential figures in Gujarat. He was appointed the 49th President of the INC, under which the “Fundamental Rights and Economic Policy” resolution was passed.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan was spotted in Mumbai’s Juhu area with veteran actor Nana Patekar, filming for a podcast last month. The podcast, which focuses on the movie Vanvaas, also stars Utkarsh Sharma and explores themes of family, honour, and self-acceptance.
Directed by Anil Sharma, Vanvaas was released in theatres on December 20, 2024, and has received a positive response from audiences for its direction, engaging storyline, and strong performances from the cast. Simratt Kaur also features in a key role.
In addition to his professional commitments, Aamir Khan is reportedly planning a holiday with Nana Patekar at his farm.
