Nirmala English High School in Pandavpura area of Mandya district in Karnataka was all dressed up to usher in Christmas. Children donned Santa’s mantle and there was a general mirth in the otherwise covid-dampened air.
Late Thursday evening while the school was busy building the season’s festive air, a mob of nearly 40 people descended inside the convent school. They accused the nuns of brainwashing the children and luring them towards Christianity.
The video, which is now viral on social media, shows members of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike in a heated argument with the nuns and teachers of the school. No one was harmed, though damage to property cannot be ruled out. The celebrations were called off.
