Director SS Rajamouli’s RRR, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, has hit jackpot at the box office. The epic war drama, released March 25,  collected a whopping Rs 500 crore at the box office worldwide in just three days and is going strong. The film has set a new benchmark in the trade circuit. RRR is single-handedly pulling the crowd back to the theatres post the Covid-19 lull.

The action film has been distributed in a variety of languages around the world. In fact, the release was often stalled because of the Covid-19 outbreak.

According to a Tweet by trade expert Taran Adarsh: “#RRR is setting new BENCHMARKS… Rs 500 cr [and counting]. WORLDWIDE GBOC *opening weekend* biz… EXTRAORDINARY Monday on the cards… #SSRajamouli brings back glory of INDIAN CINEMA. Note: Non-holiday release. Pandemic era (sic).”

RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, is a fictional war drama based on the lives of Telugu liberation warriors Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. While Ram Charan played Alluri Seetharama Raju, Jr NTR played Komaram Bheem. The film has been canned on a Rs 450 crore outlay.

Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris all have key roles. The film’s soundtrack is by MM Keeravani, the photography is by KK Senthil Kumar, and the editing is by A Sreekar Prasad.
