On Tuesday, Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Chandra filed his nomination as an Independent, endorsed by the BJP, for the elections to the Upper House of Parliament in Rajasthan.
On June 10, elections will be held for four seats, with the Congress fielding three candidates – Mukul Wasnik, Pramod Tiwari, and Randeep Singh Surjewala – and the BJP fielding former minister Ghanshyam Tiwari. On Tuesday, both filed their nomination papers.
“There have been two nominations submitted. Ghanshyam Tiwari has declared as a BJP candidate, whereas Subhash Chandra has filed as an Independent. Subhash Chandra is backed by the BJP “Ramlal Sharma, the BJP’s chief spokesperson, talked to media outside the Assembly building.
He predicted that they will both win the elections.”On the party symbol, Ghanshyam Tiwari will win, and Subhash Chandra will win as an Independent,” he said.
Satish Poonia, the BJP’s state president, said the party has urged Independent MLAs and legislators from other parties to vote for BJP-backed candidate Subhash Chandra.
