Sara Ali Khan has come under the radar of the Enforcement Directorate for allegedly accepting expensive gifts from Sukesh Chandrashekhar who is lodged in Tihar Jail for extorting more than Rs125 crore from from the wife of a businessman in Delhi.
In a report published by India Today, it is believed that the Chandrashekhar gifted Sara a chocolate box and an expensive watch from high-end luxury brand Franck Muller. These watches cost lakhs of rupees in India.
This news comes following the revelation during the ED probe that Chandrashekhar had given Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi a BMW car and Jacqueline Fernandez gifts worth Rs10 crore. Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar have also been targeted by the conman.
The ED has questioned Sara Ali Khan regarding the matter. The report said that the Sara had written a letter replying to the ED where she had explained her side. In the letter she has insisted that she had repeatedly refused gifts from Chandrashekhar. However, he was persistent and so Sara decided to accept a chocolate box from him. Chandrashekhar had sent the watch with the box of chocolates.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar, 32, is currently in Delhi’s Tihar Jail for allegedly extorting Rs215 crore from Aditi Singh, the wife of the owner of Ranbaxy. He asked for money in the year 2020-2021 under the guise of helping Aditi with her husband’s release from jail.
