Shanti Asiatic SchooI Issued Show Cause Notice By CBSE For Alleged Lapse

| Updated: March 16, 2023 13:32

Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) Ajmer office, on Wednesday, issued a show-cause notice to Shanti Asiatic School, Bopal, following reports about an alleged lapse by the invigilator in the class 12 mathematics exam on March 11. According to the students, they were not given additional time to complete the Maths paper after the supplementary was distributed without the graph attached.

The notice directs the school to submit a detailed report on the complaint. An advisory has also been issued to “be careful in the future.” The school has always been a centre for CBSE exams. Attempts to contact principal Abhay Ghosh for comments, were not met with any response.

A student, who did not wish to be named, informed that he sent an e-mail to the CBSE on Sunday. “I have yet to receive any reply. However, if the Board does not reconsider, this could cost us valuable marks. The exam started at 11 am on Saturday, and the students were given answer-sheets and supplementary material. However, by 11:30, I realised I had no graphs attached to my supplementary. Upon asking my invigilator, she asked me to stop writing and discussed the issue with a higher authority. We were made to write 50 minutes of exam material again in another supplementary. In effect, we were given only 15 minutes extra time and could not complete the paper properly,” he shared.
