The 32-year-old Shehzad Pathan who has been appointed as the Leader of Opposition in AMC was seen performing Shiva’s pooja in the premises of the AMC building before taking charge as the Leader of Opposition of AMC, earlier on Monday.
Congress appointed him as the Leader of Opposition in AMC earlier this month after 11 corporators resigned from their posts to show their disagreement and to protest. Congress later issued notice for indiscipline and their statements to the media. It has also asked four of the eleven corporators the reasons behind this act.
One of the reasons apart from him being inexperienced was that he had met with the AIMIM Chief Owaisi during his recent visit to Ahmedabad in September 2021. And despite constant reassurance by Shehzad of the meet being a courtesy meeting, the corporators kept their protest on.

Pathan has been booked three times and mostly for protesting. He was also lodged in Sabarmati Central Jail for 55 days and has been arrested under sections of IPC for rioting and attempt to murder during a CAA protest by him in Shah-e-Alam area of Ahmedabad.
