Shree Saini becomes the first Indian-American to win Miss World America 2021, as per an official announcement on the Miss World America website.
Born in Punjab, Saini held the title of Miss World America Washington and the prestigious position of MWA National Beauty by working tirelessly to help the less fortunate and needy. Among many other accomplishments, she has been recognised by UNICEF and Doctors without Borders among others.
Saini is from Washington state and is unique in many other ways. She is an advocate for heart health and has had a permanent pacemaker since she was 12 as she overcame a major car accident that left her with burns all over her face. She did her graduation from the University of Washington.
On winning the Miss World title, she posted on Instagram: ” Thank you God for blessing me with the service job of Miss World America 2021″. She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported her, corrected her when needed and guider her in her journey.
Earlier, Nina Davuluri, who is now an American public speaker and advocate, became the first contestant of Indian descent to win the Miss America competition in 2014.
