Gandhinagar: As the campaign for state assembly election gathers momentum alarm bells are ringing for the Indian National Congress considering the rumours coming from Saurashtra.
Speculation is that six Congress MLAs from Saurashtra are preparing to leave the party to join BJP. According to sources, Ambarish Der, Chirag Kalgaria, Lalit Vasoya, Vimal Chudasama, Babubhai Waja, and Harshad Ribadia are the MLAs who are likely to leave the party. Meanwhile, BJP and Aam Aadmi Party have stepped up the election campaign with national-level leaders visiting Gujarat. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kehriwal was among the national leaders of AAP who visited Gujarat for campaigning.
Responding to the rumours the AICC secretary in charge of Saurashtra Ramkishan Ojha said that Congress ideologues won’t join BJP. “We will attempt to address all issues within the party”, he said.
